Every Thursday during July and August, the Museum will present Brown Bag with the Artist at noon. This free program is for anyone who would like to know a bit more about how art is created. There may be a demonstration, a conversation, or a slide show. You'll learn a little something and have fun at the same time. Bring your lunch or get a box lunch from the Palette Cafe.
Debra Joyce Dawson: Painting en Plein Air in India Pataskala artist Debra Joyce Dawson will share photographs and paintings of her travels to India where she painted en plein air. She first traveled to Southern India with friend and fellow artist Ray Hassard in 2005 and experienced first-hand the challenges of attempting to paint outside in such densely populated areas. When Dawson returned to India in 2007, she focused her travel and work in Northern India and the remote Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Bold and brightly colored, Dawson’s works depict people and scenes that could serve as a joyful travelogue. Dawson and Hassard are planning a return trip to India this fall.
