Experience the wonder of Dale Chihuly's wild and wavy glass sculptures! Make your own Chihuly-inspired sculpture and a colorful bowl, then take a respite to enjoy the lilting harmonies of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. Special guests from Glass Axis Art Studio and Gallery will provide live demonstrations. Art Escapes: Glass in Columbus Museum of Art

In celebration of Chihuly in Columbus, Paula Brothers and Nancy Turner will lead a day-long tour of Chihuly Illuminated followed by Chihuly Reimagined at Franklin Park Conservatory, plus visits to a local glass studio, galleries, and a fabulous private collection. Lunch will be served at the Columbus Club. The cost of the tour is $125 for nonmembers and $100 for members. Registration deadline is October 30. CMA & Glass Axis
Columbus has a strong tradition in glass art-making, exhibiting, and collecting. In conjunction with Chihuly Illuminated, CMA is collaborating with local artists and studios to bring special offers to promote our hometown talent. October features collaborations with partner Glass Axis, a Columbus glass studio where students and community members come together and share expenses, knowledge, resources, and artistic expression through the medium of glass.
Glass Axis offers free demonstrations from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on the last Saturday of every month. Spend an afternoon enjoying Chihuly Illuminated at CMA followed by a look at how art glass is made at Glass Axis.
