Cartoon Crossroads Columbus: Spotlight on Francoise Mouly
September 29, 2024
10:30–11:00 AM
Location: CMA
Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC) is an annual European-style festival that spans four entire days—and stretches throughout the city of Columbus, Ohio. Each year, CXC continues to do what it originally set out to do: make genuine connections between people who share a love, a passion, and a personal reason to believe in the future of cartoon art.
Join us for an up close and in-person presentation by longtime New Yorker art editor, publisher/director of TOON books, and foundational alt-comix publishing pioneer Francoise Mouly. In her time at The New Yorker she’s overseen over 100 covers. She has been named Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, was awarded an honorary Doctorate from Pratt Institute, Gold and Silver medals as well as the Richard Gangel Art Director Award from the Society of Illustrators, and France’s highest honor, the Legion of Honour.
Program is free with registration.
