Join CMA and local author Dr. Carlotta Penn for an interactive family program, including a screening of The Turtle With an Afro cartoon, an animated short based on her new book, The Turtle With an Afro.  The Turtle With an Afro is a children’s picture book written by Columbus educator and author, Carlotta Penn, and illustrated by Audy Popoola, a Maryland-based artist. Animations are by Claudia Jackson and Pedro Fequiere. This fun, lyrical story of a Turtle who loves her Afro is a celebration of curly, kinky, coily hair in all its forms, and a lesson on self-love and acceptance. A fantastic, fabulous, feisty story!
