Who do you imagine when you think of play? Under what circumstances can laboring bodies choose rest? Audiences are invited to consider this and more in the special exhibition Ming Smith: Transcendence. Join writer, independent researcher and Columbus artist Tyiesha Radford Shorts in a guided discursive exploration of several works in the exhibition while considering the traditional significance of Ohio’s fairgrounds on communities of color.

About Tyiesha Radford Shorts
Tyiesha is a writer and independent researcher with a passion for community education. She serves as the Director of The Giovanni Collective, a writing organization for Black women in Central Ohio. Tyiesha lives in Columbus' Bronzeville neighborhood with her husband, Marshall.
