Join us for the annual Keith and Nadine Pierce Lecture with Jonathan Weinberg. Weinberg is an artist and Curator of The Maurice Sendak Foundation, as well as curator of CMA’s current exhibition,
Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak. Weinberg had known Sendak since he was ten years old and was part of his extended family.
Jonathan Weinberg's books include
Love and Ambition in American Art and
Pier Groups: Art and Sex along the New York Waterfront. He was the lead curator for the ground-breaking 2019 touring exhibition,
Art After Stonewall, 1969-89. He also curated CMA's current exhibition,
Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak.
GENESIS, Weinberg's painted windows and prints inspired by the Bible, is on view at the Ely Center for Contemporary Art in New Haven until January 5, 2023.
This program is free, reservations recommended. We will provide an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for this program.
